The singular peaks of Bobo Dioulasso’s mosque

This week, Ailsa‘s photo challenge theme is Peaks.

Peaks as mountain peaks of course, but it reminded me also of the peaks we find in the architecture of certain mosques. It is the outstanding Islamic Arts Museum of Kuala Lumpur that opened my eyes to the different types of mosques we can find in the world.

In Burkina Faso, I discovered this fascinating building made of mud in the very typical Sudanese-Sahelian style at the end of the 19th century.
