Travel theme: a Graceful touch in ungraceful touristy Budva, Montenegro

This week, Ailsa‘s photo challenge theme is Graceful.

157 - Balkan - Budva

The Montenegrin coast is absolutely splendid, but unfortunately, due to mass tourism, partly enabled by Russians who own a big deal of the coast properties and land, there is very little graceful about it.

Although I was there before the start of the season, very early June, I avoided touristy Budva because I wanted an authentic experience of Montenegro. Yet I had to visit that village to talk to tourist agencies and find transportation to incredible Ostrog monastery in the mountains – most day trips being organized from Budva.

And because I was in Budva, once business had been done, I walked around, and was charmed by this dancer’s statue on the sea side, with the Old Town on the back.
